Why I Want to be a Nurse Practitioner
This article was written by the custom article critique writing service
I have always dreamt of helping people. Nursing is a profession that presupposes assisting people in getting proper health care, improving their health, and addressing health-related needs. The primary goal of nursing is to promote and enhance people’s wellness and health to provide them with an opportunity to lead productive lives and realize their maximum potential. The choice of a family nurse practitioner is the best option for people who want to influence the patients’ wellness across their lifespan. I want to be a nurse practitioner because I want to save people’s lives, help them address their health-related problems, and have extended career opportunities.
Nowadays, the healthcare sector experiences a shortage of primary care physicians. Therefore, the need for nurse practitioners is constantly rising. Nurse practitioners possess specialized knowledge and skills that enable them to influence public health in a positive way. They gain their professionalism, which can be effectively used in any area of the medical field, through formal education programs and medical practice. Being a nurse practitioner means being a continual learner as the field of healthcare is constantly advancing and developing. The need to improve the existing skills and obtain new ones will give me a chance to influence and facilitate healthy lifestyles and positive patient outcomes.
Nurse practitioners are independently licensed health care providers (Naylor & Kurtzman, 2010). They are involved in the process of offering high-quality and professional solutions for various health issues and increasing healthcare access for all people irrespective of their age, race, ethnicity, and background. Nurse practitioners can assist patients in different ways (Baileff, 2015). In addition, they can meet a wide range of healthcare needs and conduct a comprehensive mental health assessment of patients.
Nurse practitioners have extended career opportunities. I want to practice autonomously and start my own private practice. I pursue delivering a unique combination of medical and nursing care. In addition, I seek to assist people in improving their lifestyle and making good healthcare decisions. I am convinced that it is essential to focus on a person as a whole while treating specific health problems. Moreover, there is a need to educate people on the impact and possible outcomes of the problems they experience. Consequently, the position of a nurse practitioner is beneficial to the society because these professionals help people improve their access to health care. In addition, they have a variety of other job options, such as serving as primary or specialty care providers. They may choose any specialization, including family practice, geriatrics, acute care, pediatrics, adult practice, and mental health.
Finally, nurse practitioners have an opportuntiy to earn more money than, for example, registered nurses. However, their salary depends on their experience, specialization, place of work, and other factors. Lucrative benefits and bonuses encourage nurse practitioners to work in different regions (Bratianu, 2016). Nurse practitioners can work in different settings, such as hospital, schools, clinics, or private practices. Therefore, their work is always a challenge that requires devotion and desire to help others. I want to treat people in need to help them recover and lead a happy life.
In conclusion, I want to become a nurse practitioner to positively influence people’s lives, provide them with an opportunity to become healthy, manage their health-related needs, and provide high-quality, comprehensive, and professional patient-centered care. In addition, I seek to counsel patients and their families to make proper health care choices. I am passionate about health care and the provision of high-quality care to others. I am going to do it through the provision of evidence-based practice and the ensurement of consistency and reliability. Finally, I am sure that the increase in the number of nurse practitioners will lead to the enhancement of the overall health of the population.
